HTML Basics—on DVD-ROM

Do your students want to learn about exciting employment opportunities in the digital media industry? This DVD-ROM introduces the subject of HTML hand-coding—an essential skill for would-be webmasters—with practical, detailed information backed up by plenty of hands-on exercises.

Starting with the fast-paced Industry Overview, students will find out about a variety of high-tech jobs as employers discuss the kinds of expertise they’re on the lookout for. In addition, employees who have recently joined the digital workforce share their success stories.

A dozen HTML lessons provide all the information learners need to build a basic Web page, including how to create and manipulate text, color, images, links, tables, and frames. A built-in text editor and browser will have students writing code right along with the interactive, self-paced lessons. Section summaries, 36 practice exercises, and 144 scorable test questions will enhance knowledge retention.

Workforce Preparedness offers four self-assessment exercises that help learners define their marketable qualities and chart a course for future success. Plus, an animated slide show illustrates production, design, and information technology career paths in the growing digital media industry.

Additional features include a glossary, reference charts, supplemental audio narration for the lessons, help files, and print capability. A user’s guide may be viewed or printed online.

Can be used with both Windows and Macintosh. A computer with a DVD-ROM drive is required to access all of the video and interactive content described above. However, the video content can also be viewed on a DVD player.
