How do you help an elephant overcome his fear of water? How do you teach a sloth how to navigate a forest? Focusing on two locations, Africa and Costa Rica, this observational documentary series meets animals with some extraordinary survival stories, and follows the people determined to help them get back to a life in the wild. Travelling to rescue centres in both locations, the series encounters characters like Moyo, the baby elephant separated from his mother when he was swept down a river; Mandy the tapir who escaped hunters in Costa Rica; and Kermie and Lockett, the sloths learning about life in the forest thanks to a climbing frame.
